Not Eating Salt Is Destroying Your Body!

One of the most fundamental and essential nutritional requirements is sufficient amounts of real salt. Sodium from natural salt is the single most important electrolyte and allows every cell in the body to function properly. Adequate amounts of salt must be consumed on a daily basis so as to replace the amount lost through sweat and urination. A critical lack of salt can result in seizures, congestive heart failure, brain swelling, coma and cardiovascular collapse. The human body, or any mammal, can actually die from extreme salt deficiency. Sodium is a basic element of extracellular fluid and is necessary for maintaining the volume of the plasma to allow appropriate tissue perfusion and normal cellular metabolism. Because sodium acts as a positive charged ion in extracellular fluid, it is an indispensable component of blood, lymph, body cavities lined with serous (moisture-exuding) membrane, cavities and channels of the brain and spinal cord and in muscle and other body tissues. Therefore, a sufficient level of natural sodium is crucial for ideal cardiovascular, lymphatic and tissue health.

Besides maintaining fluid balance and cardiovascular function, sodium and chloride derived from real salt is what allows nerves to send and receive electrical impulses. Sodium ions promote neuron signals between cells which determine nerve function and allows for physical movement. The chloride ions present in salt are secreted in the gastric fluid as hydrochloric acid. Adequate hydrochloric acid production is required for the proper digestion of food and absorption of nutrients. It is also vital for the destruction of infectious agents in the stomach that may have been present in anything consumed (food, water, other liquids).

Depending on whether or not you are a sports fan, you may seen countless star athletes (such as LeBron James in the 2014 NBA Finals) writhing in pain from muscle cramps due to extreme salt deficiency. These athletes are perceived to be the epitome of health, fitness and physicality. However, the reality is that their bodies are no different then anyone else in that they require certain basic nutrients in order to survive. And despite having access to the so-called “best health professionals” in the world, they are equally misinformation as the rest of the population.

Many people have experienced the occasional, excruciatingly painful muscle or abdominal cramp – even on a daily basis. Cramping is just one of many symptoms resulting from a lack of sufficient amounts of salt in the diet including headaches, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and impaired mental state. Most people, children in particular, are severely salt deficient which is resulting in a multitude of health issues such as attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity. In fact, nearly 97% of the people in the United States are salt deficient as determined by kinesiological testing.

Why are so many of us so deprived of a basic nutrient that is absolutely necessary for life? There are two primary reasons. First and foremost, most people are unaware of what real salt is. The highly heated, heavily refined, toxin-laden substance being sold as table salt in every grocery store is not anything the body can use and is actually detrimental to our health. It is simply processed sodium with unnecessary toxic additives, NOT real salt. Besides being stripped of its natural minerals and highly heated, which denatures the few remaining nutrients; all table salt contains toxic chemical additives such as talc, silica aluminate and ferro-cyanide. Aluminum intake leads to neurological disorders and can bio-accumulate inside the body causing other serious conditions. For example, high levels of aluminum present in the prostate are suspected of being the most common cause of its enlargement and stem cell malignancy within the gland. Talc is a known carcinogen therefore its use in baby powders and feminine hygiene products has been curtailed.

While there are a few brands of sea salt available in supermarkets and health food stores that are minimally processed, most are no different from the common table salt described above. Even the brands that are real salt contain a multitude of pollutants that are present in every ocean in the world and therefore test to be energetically weak. Additionally, be aware of the fact that most salt known as Himalayan pink salt is also not what it is advertised to be. The majority are energetically weak and presumably nothing more than table salt sprayed with food coloring to give its pink hue.

Processed foods contain extremely high amounts of processed sodium; either in the form of table salt, artificial flavors or flavor enhancers. Particularly dangerous are the so-called “low sodium” products which often contain the sodium derivative monosodium glutamate, which is an excitotoxin that can literally excite brain and nerve cells to death and cause heart attacks in people who are magnesium deficient. It may be the most likely cause of sudden fatal heart failures in young athletes while engaged in sporting events.

The other contributing factor to severe salt deficiency in the overwhelming percentage of the population is due to an ignorant medical community literally scaring people into believing that salt is dangerous. For decades now, medical doctors have been preaching their nonsensical rhetoric about the dangers of salt intake. If only they would differentiate between real salt and the toxic processed sodium available in the markets, they would actually being doing some good. Medical professionals’ contention that excessive dietary salt leads to high blood pressure, stroke and heart failure, stomach cancer, osteoporosis, kidney disease, kidney stones, enlarged heart muscle and headaches is, at best, a misidentification of the problem. Salt is not the cause of these conditions whatsoever; it is the processed chemicals being sold as salt. Despite what the medical community would have us believe, unheated, unprocessed, toxin-free salt is vital for good health and normal blood pressure.

    For some reason this article immediately struck a chord with me so I bought some pink salt. I took 2 teaspoons 3 a day for just to days and the horrible cramps I would get in my calf muscles during the night were gone. I can sleep through the night now without waking several times in searing pain. I have since back the amount down to 1 teaspoon 3 times a day and I still don’t have any cramps.     Any living body needs real salt in order to survive regardless of infections. What needs to be determined is the appropriate amount that will be beneficial to each person. We all are different in countless ways so what is appropriate for one person may or may not be appropriate for another person.
